I bought your book for myself on my 76th birthday. I treat myself to reading a chapter or two every morning during my Quiet Time. I love it. It nourishes both my mind and my soul. God bless you immensely for sharing your journey with me.
My neighbor and I were at the Farminary Friday to hear you and Kristin talk about your new book, Good Soil. What a lovely evening in April amid the beautiful surroundings and wonderful conversation! I’m almost finished reading Good Soil, and I’ve savored each chapter, limiting myself to only a few each day because I don’t want the book to end. I’ve learned so much about plants and other inhabitants at the farminary. Can’t wait to get my two raised beds planted! Jeff, you’ve written a lovely memoir/informative book that I will most definitely reread. I’ve been following your work since I first saw you online at an Evolving Faith Conference a number of years ago, and it was such a treat to see you in person. I watched your ordination online too. God bless you! 😊
You had me at ocean Jeff. I love here close to where you lived. When I say God lives in the ocean, perhaps you'll nod your head. Our water here is pristine and teams with life, the shells I find are evidence of life once lived. I touch my toes to the water daily because it grounds me. I say a quick prayer and have my walk. I lived in Jax for a while and in the winter we'd whale watch for the migration and the babies that would follow. Holy ground.
I have that box set of Max Richter courtesy of my cousin (fanatic) and Sleep is my favorite. Your note is inspiring and beautiful. I'l sending you supercharged energy and good vibes for your whirlwind tour. Peace
I needed that meditation on the ocean tonight. I don't get to sit by the ocean as often as I'd like to. But I hold on to the knowledge that through all our human drama, the seaweed is swaying and the waves are crashing. The snails are moseying around on rocks. It steadies me to remember this.
I will "Keep moving toward goodness. Continue to seek beauty. Persist in hope." as best I can.
Thank you for the space you create with your writing. So glad for all the people who will come into contact with you through the book tour. Sending positive vibes and energy for the conversations.
Thank you for the words about the ocean. May you continue to stay the same and grow and change during this book tour. Looking forward to your thoughts after the tour.
Thank you for giving of your self and your time for the book tour. I enjoyed my time in Grand Rapids and loved getting to meet you. As an introvert myself I understand the energy output necessary. So a huge thank you.
Dear Jeff thank you again for your thoughts, openness and hospitality into your journey with God. I'm holding today hope and trust. Not sure how to do this well in the midst of doubt, pain and uncertainty but I'm learning slowly.
I read your book “ Good Soil”. I wish we could have tea and talk. I went to seminary a long, long time ago and yet… oh how your words resonated with me. Our stories are so different but not at all. Thank you.
Finished reading your book while at a nearby state park. I laughed and I cried. Thank you for the care you put into Good Soil. I think I have some brisket in my freezer, perhaps brisket fried rice should be on the menu soon.
