How fantastic! Congrats on the new gig. They are blessed to have you. I love the notion of the compassion of water. How often do humans soothe ourselves with water. How much of the human struggle is worked out by the sea, at a lakeside retreat, walking by streams and rivers, in a long soaky bath...
Your words...always a gift. We lived in the desert for years before moving to the Pacific Northwest. I often found it difficult to find the beauty. You’ve reminded me of the gifts of water and hummingbirds.
Exciting! As a long-time member of 1st Pres Berkeley and a self-appointed member of any Jeff Chu fan club that may exist, WELCOME. Your sermon this morning was such a blessing; my thirsty soul was nourished.
Got to “know you” via Twitter years ago. Glad I found you on Substack.
Watched 1st Pres of Berkeley earlier online. Loved the old hymns & was more than lifted up by your sermon. Wonderful words of love & hope. My heart is lighter for having heard you today.
And I look forward to watching more services from this enthusiastic church.
Caption: “Sometimes taking a step back can help you find a solution to the challenge ahead.” — sometimes I get so caught up in looking for one answer or one possible solution that I am oblivious to the path that is offering me the freedom I seek.
Just stopping in to say I’ve had a really tough week at work - I’m a Vet Tech - and reading your post today calmed my soul. We had a historic wave of cold weather in Seattle and while my furnace was dead for the worst of it🥶🥶🥶🥶, our city learned that 5 (at least) of our un-housed neighbors died of exposure.
I’m blessed beyond words to have a home, job, heat (now) and you and Fozzie to brighten my life❤️☮️❤️☮️
Caption for Foz, “I want out but I really DON’T want out!☺️
Caption for Fozzie’s photo: “The most obvious path is not always the one we choose to go down”.
“If I could just lose 5 lbs…”
Looking forward to listening online tomorrow!

Indeed. I love your “how often do humans soothe ourselves with water!”❤️❤️
Caption” I’m so sad I can’t even see my way out here” oh dear Fozzie. We see your pain and relate.

If only I could get to the other side
I love that thought about the water wanting to carry something for us.
Fozzie do not fence me in and give me my CHEWY
This picture speaks! The only caption I can think of-having been in similar circumstances is “No Way Out…”
