I'm grateful for seeing Greta and Frances and the other girls and all their parents for the first time in over three years, at Jabe"s ordination. Your Goddaughter.
Yes, we are thankful for our goddaughters too! We look forward to spending a bit of time with them over the next few days. I so wish I could have been at the ordination.
I am grateful for the marbled swirls of ruby and white in the beetroot I just picked and peeled from the garden. That “surprising sighting of beauty” helped me glimpse God’s presence for a moment in the mundane; helped remind me that They are a God of bountiful beauty.
Yes, absolutely! Beautifully put, as always. (You can turn a phrase, that’s for sure.) The noticing is what creates the holy moments in our ordinary days. Learning to notice, and perhaps learning to see or perceive the Divine in what you notice, is a spiritual discipline all of its own.
A million “thank you’s” for so beautifully writing this piece. It makes me feel like I am not alone sharing these same thoughts. And somehow it makes me feel like God is still here for us even when we don’t feel it. God bless you and your amazing written words.
Thank you for your words of grace for all of humanity, and for showing up when it’s hard, in spite of the angry responses you will receive. Thank you ❤️
I am grateful for my siblings and siblings-in-law, who are mostly people that I really enjoy, admire, care deeply about, and crave spending time with. This was thrown into sharp relief for me this weekend when I caught up with a dear friend from out-of-town, whose sibling relationships are marked by strife, untreated mental illness, and discord. It made me realize how fortunate my siblings and I are to have close bonds, despite some very difficult periods in our family history and our individual life journeys.
I see that "mostly" haha. Seriously, though, what a gift, especially, as you note, at a time when families are so often strained and tested by division.
Your words Jeff. I'm so grateful for your words that my soul resonates with. Thank you. I am also so grateful for the gift of beauty in nature and on faces, despite all the heartbreak going on around the globe. What a gift to not take for granted. I pray that those submerged in the trauma may be able to experience more Beauty.
Really loved this. Thanks so much for sharing.
Me too. Jeff’s thoughts fed my spirit.

Thank you so much for sharing the voice and word of the singer/songwriter you just introduced us to. I also found and particularly like this song as well. https://spencerlajoye.bandcamp.com/track/plowshare-prayer
so many tears as I read this - thank you
I'm grateful for your words which remind me that God is love.

Sometimes the mundane turns out to be transcendent, and the main difference is our noticing.

Thanks for putting this out there. It’s so comforting. Grateful for you Jeff.
Jeff, Thank you. D

I'd like to think that God's presence is much more constant than my feelings, which are both inconsistent and unreliable!
This moved me to tears. Thank you.
Thank you for this beautiful offering. A heart-filling way to begin this day before the chaos of cousins and meal preparation.

I am grateful for your words and all that bubbles up inside of me when I read them. The images, the tears. Grief. Hope. Thank you!
grateful for artwork and poetry and stories...all a sign of yearning.
